My daughter has been taking private piano lessons with Ms. Alla since she was four and a half years old. My daughter connected with her immediately and has loved her since the first class. Over the past two years, my daughter has developed a passion for learning piano, and even creating music. She has been flourishing under Ms. Alla’s instruction, and progressed so much. All of this progress is attributed to Ms. Alla because she instills a love for music while teaching the young kids, and also provides a positive, nurturing and inspiring environment. We are so grateful for Ms. Alla.
First and foremost, Ms. Alla is a very experienced teacher with a lot of patience and a deep love of students. She always welcomes her students and makes her students feel comfortable. My daughter enjoys every class, enthusiastically engages in each lesson, and always looks forward to her next class. She often does not want to leave Ms. Alla’ studio after the class is over.
Second, Ms. Alla has a set of very effective teaching methods. She taught my daughter not only the technique, but also theory and musicality. She tailors each lesson to each student. She incorporates classical with modern music, and does not go by the level book, rather than each student’s capacity and interest. She also helps her students to understand the meaning behind each piece of music. We sat in every class my daughter took and observed all of these great teaching techniques. She also works with us, the parents, to help my daughter practice more effectively.
Third, Ms. Alla’s discipline and perfectionism is excellent. We truly appreciate the fact that she always nudges my daughter to try her best. As a result, my daughter has built a solid foundation, which tremendously helps her to learn not only piano but also another musical instrument, violin.
Fourth, Ms. Alla is not only a great teacher, but also an extremely talented musician and pianist. While maintaining a busy teaching schedule, Ms. Alla frequently participated in music composition competitions to challenge herself with composing and improve her skills. All these professional activities have a positive influence on her students.
Last but not the least, Ms. Alla is very genuine, kind, honest, trustworthy, and has got a sense of humor as well. She is also very professional and punctual. She has become a role model for our daughter and a life-long friend of our family. We felt so sad that we had to move out of the state this fall and could not continue taking piano lessons from Ms. Alla. We hope Ms. Alla stays happy and healthy so she can teach more students in the area. I highly recommend Ms. Alla. She is a real gem.

I have been taking piano lessons with Alla now for the third year. Having worked with at least four previous teachers while my kids were taking piano lessons, I have never met anyone like her! She is amazingly patient and professional, paying great attention to details. Her ability to encourage is really noteworthy. My son Ari studied piano with Alla for over two years and was happy to do so. Now, that sounds easy but it's not. I do not have one of those obedient, happy-to-please-their-parents kids who can spend hours at the piano practicing chords. I have a very musical, but very stubborn kid who wants to play what he wants to play when he wants to play it. We went through several teachers but it didn't stick. What I appreciated about Alla was her flexibility, patience, and her sense of humor. She took a difficult kid and helped him enjoy his lessons. This is the point of it all, isn't it, unless you have a musical prodigy playing Bach at 3 years old, you just want your children to learn the piano without hating the process and promising to never touch the instrument again as soon as the parents are off their backs. I have many adult friends like that - forced as kids and never touching the keys again after that. I am happy to say that my son still plays sometimes, even though he switched to guitar some years ago. He'd approach the piano and just play it. He remembers his lessons fondly. They did ragtime, Michael Jackson, ballads, classics, you name it. Alla did not fight his stubborn streak, she worked with it. And we are all grateful for the results.

I have been taking lessons from Alla for many years now.
I started taking piano lessons in my 30s. I do not have a lot of time to practice.
There are some weeks that I do not practice at all (unfortunately).
It was important for me to find a teacher who would be understanding to these constraints,
not make me feel bad about it and keep things light and fun. Alla is exactly that and much more.
I am amazed at Alla's ability to find solutions immediately for any challenge that comes up, no matter how big it is,
when learning a new piece. And I find myself steadily progressing in my piano playing.
She has a deep understanding of music and how to play it with feeling from heart and NOT just the notes.
And she manages to teach me that and make the learning experience a real pleasure.
Alla is very patient, positive and supportive through the process regardless of the challenges.
